Divorce documents, reports, dissolution and other records pertaining to divorce are available from several sources if one wishes to get hold of such in the State of Colorado. Records starting from 1851 to 1939 and 1968 up to the present are available from the Department of Public Health and Environment Vital Records Division. Records from 1940 to 1967 though are only available from the county clerk office where the divorce was granted. Copies of records are available for $17 and can be paid via money order, certified check or credit card.

Although divorce records are vital records and considered as public records, access to these records are limited and one must show proof of relationship or be related to the divorce parties to be able to get hold of third party divorce records. Copies can only be furnished to other persons or third parties if a tangible proof is presented which makes the person eligible to obtain the said copies.
